Herbs in butter

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Great idea!! Freezing Herbs in Oil or Butter

Choose firm, fresh herbs, ideally from the market or your own garden.
If you wish, you can chop them fine. Or leave them in larger sprigs and leaves. Here I froze a combination of finely-chopped and whole herbs such as rosemary, fennel stalk, sage, and oregano.
Pack the wells of ice cube trays about 2/3 full of herbs.
You can mix up the herbs, too; think about freezing a bouquet garni of sage, thyme, and rosemary to add to winter roast chickens and potatoes!
Pour extra-virgin olive oil or melted, unsalted butter over the herbs.
Cover lightly with plastic wrap and freeze overnight.
Remove the frozen cubes and store in freezer containers or small bags.
Don't forget to label each container or bag with the type of herb (and oil) inside!

Depending upon what you're going to use these herbs for, I'd suggest that rather than oil, use clarified butter/ghee* instead. Or lard. Or tallow. Vegetable oils, even olive oil, are unstable to heat with. Use these oils for salads.

More Monsanto news

Launching a lawsuit against the very company that is responsible for a farmer suicide every 30 minutes, 5 million farmers are now suing Monsanto for as much as 6.2 billion euros (around 7.7 billion US dollars). The reason? As with many other cases, such as the ones that led certain farming regions to be known as the ‘suicide belt’, Monsanto has been reportedly taxing the farmers to financial shambles with ridiculous royalty charges. The farmers state that Monsanto has been unfairly gathering exorbitant profits each year on a global scale from “renewal” seed harvests, which are crops planted using seed from the previous year’s harvest.

The practice of using renewal seeds dates back to ancient times, but Monsanto seeks to collect massive royalties and put an end to the practice. Why? Because Monsanto owns the verypatent to the genetically modified seed, and is charging the farmers not only for the original crops, but the later harvests as well. Eventually, the royalties compound and many farmers begin to struggle with even keeping their farm afloat. It is for this reason that India slammed Monsanto with groundbreaking ‘biopiracy’charges in an effort to stop Monsanto from ‘patenting life’.

Jane Berwanger, a lawyer for the farmers who went on record regarding the case,
told the Associated Press:

“Monsanto gets paid when it sell the seeds. The law gives producers the right to multiply the seeds they buy and nowhere in the world is there a requirement to pay (again). Producers are in effect paying a private tax on production.”

The findings echo what thousands of farmers have experienced in particularly poor nations, where many of the farmers are unable to stand up to Monsanto. Back in 2008, the Daily Mail covered what is known as the ‘GM Genocide’, which is responsible for taking the lives of over 17,683 Indian farmers in 2009 alone. After finding that their harvests were failing and they started to enter economic turmoil, the farmers began ending their own lives — oftentimes drinking the very same insecticide that Monsanto provided them with.
As the information continues to surface on Monsanto’s crimes, further lawsuits will begin to take effect. After it was ousted in January that Monsanto was running illegal 'slave-like' working rings, more individuals became aware of just how seriously Monsanto seems to disregard their workers — so why would they care for the health of their consumers? In April, another group of farmers sued Monsanto for ‘knowingly poisoning’ workers and causing ‘devastating birth defects’.

Will endless lawsuits from millions of seriously affected individuals be the end of Monsanto?

Menopause help

Julie was just reaching her 51st birthday. She had good health and even went to the gym twice a week with her friends. It was if one night I went to bed and the next day I woke up as someone else. I felt strange. I seemed to be nervous and anxious. I had no idea why. My husband Andy didn't notice any difference in me, so I went through my day as usual. 2 Months later, Andy asked me if everything was OK  Why I asked? He then sat me down and said that he had noticed that I had been a bit snappy lately. I told him I had no idea what was happening to me. I started to cry and must have cried for almost an hour.

A few months more and I was feeling if my world was crashing around me. The last thing I
Wanted was for Andy to leave me. I was a total mess. I was getting night sweats, pains in my back and other health problems included a puzzling itchy skin condition on my arm and persistent bouts of indigestion from acid reflux — neither of which I had had before. My memory was shot to pieces. For the first time I had to write everything down or I would never remember to either do it or to turn up to it. Names were another thing for me. A friend who I had known for years suddenly became almost a stranger. Do you think I could remember her bloody name? No way. I was losing my mind. I ran a business from home, so speaking to customers was a regular thing for me. Names become impossible to remember and my patience became as thin as a piece of cotton.

Thank God for a good friend of a friend of mine. Amy told me about Menopause. I knew loads from my Mum but just did not click that all these other symptoms were the result of the Menopause. Just talking about it to Amy helped me so much. It all made so much more sense to me. OK now I know what is going on, what could I do to relive the symptoms? I read every article I could find on the web. I then stumbled upon a woman who sent me to bodybynature. I had tried a few different supplements but none had really made any difference to me. I was as skeptical about this company and wondered how they would be any different. When I read the feedback on women’s health, I realised that I had found a company that cared and had actually made their supplements from something other than chemicals.

I have been using a few of their supplements and would be more than happy to recommend them to anybody, especially if you are a woman who is going through the menopause.

Hydroponically-grown supplements from Body by Nature

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Why we are so different to other supplement companies

Nutrients for your body

Hydroponically-grown supplements from Body by Nature are supplied to those who have a distinct focus on their nutrition and well-being. Body by Nature is a leader in the field of food-based supplementation and provides products that are bio-effective and natural.
Most supplements are made from isolated salts. This process gives you sources of Zinc, Magnesium etc but by no way is as effective as wholefood supplementation. Body by nature are committed to supplying all their supplementation by way of foodstate or wholefood. These two forms are superior bio-efficacy supplies that are just not available in any other way.
Body by nature’s product range, are both gentle and bio-effective on the body. Our bodies are not designed to thrive on rocks and soil, but from the nutrients from these sources that have been bio-transformed by plants. All our plants are an edible species which are hydroponically grown. We use the lactobacillus bulgaricus, a member of the broccoli family of plants. Our range of wholefood products are suitable both for vegans and vegetarians and also those who take an interest in their health and nutrition.
All our food state products are grown using our hydroponic system. The advantage of this natural process means we can control the mineral levels and growing environment, so there will be no risk of bacteria that occurs in soil growth. With the perfect growing condition that we are able to achieve, keeping a consistent growth temperature, we achieve the best nutrition and produce a result that is an optimum mineral rich product.
The way food is grown and supplied to us is far from perfect as so many chemicals are used to increase the yield. By growing food using nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, farmers get a higher yield but we as the end consumer get a much poorer quality food product. As most of our food is grown this way, using more and more pesticides, insecticides using techniques such as deep ploughing, proceeds to upset the natural mycorrhiza.
Mycorrhiza is the pro-biotic bacteria essential for the transformation of organic minerals to organic forms that can be metabolised by plants, without which the inorganic minerals stay bound in the soil and unavailable to plant life. Less pro-biotic bacteria equals less minerals available to plants equals less nutrients in the foods we and our live stock eat.

How can I lose some weight?

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

When I turned 43 years old I weighed 200 pounds. Never did I ever believe I would tip the scales at 150 pounds, let alone 200. And that wasn’t even the worst of all of my weight gain or health issues. I was feeling depressed long before I reached 200 pounds...

I also suffered from GERD, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, the start of an irregular menstrual cycle with increasing PMS symptoms, and severe upper back and neck inflammation which caused headaches and pain which prevented me from sleeping…. my lipid panel showed that I was high risk for a stroke, heart attack, was prediabetic with metabolic syndrome, and the list kept going…

My uncle’s unfortunate health crisis encouraged me to explore paleo, and I began my journey on January 17, 2012. I recently turned 47, and instead of reaching another all-time weight gain record, I trimmed down 36 pounds without exercise, while eating tons of food.

Within the !rst weeks of changing to ancestral eating my daily GERD and IBS disappeared. My menstrual cycle is no longer irregular, and has returned to pre-pregnancy normalness. My lifelong affliction with PMS has improved, a very unexpected and desirable change, and I no longer have symptoms of irritability and lethargy 2 weeks before I start my cycle… with paleo eating the inflammation has been cured, and only returns if I eat grains or food additives…

My 2009 triglycerides were 234 mg/dl. After a mere 2 months of ancestral eating my triglycerides dropped to 134 mg/dl.”

How do I stop my acid reflux

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Lots of good info if you suffer from acid reflux.

An estimated 25 million American adults have acid reflux, or a severe form of heartburn, and experience the issue on a daily basis. More than 60 million suffer from heartburn once a month. And while simple overeating can be to blame, there are several foods that only exacerbate the condition and make it worse. Here you will learn of many foods to avoid with acid reflux.
Heartburn isn't something to take lightly. In addition to the almost unbearable pain, the acid consistently irritating the esophagus can lead to lasting damage and increase your risk of esophageal cancer.
Interestingly, health professionals prescribe medications known as proton pump inhibitors to reduce the amount of acid build up when the condition is actually caused by too little acid in many cases, not too much acid. In some cases, the disorder is caused by a faulty valve between the stomach and the esophagus. However, in others, it is only made worse by diet.
“After food passes through your esophagus into your stomach, a muscular valve called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) closes, preventing food or acid to move back up. Gastroesophageal reflux occurs when the LES relaxes inappropriately, allowing acid from your stomach to flow (reflux) backward into your esophagus.”
Foods to Avoid with Acid Reflux
In addition to utilizing these 5 natural remedies for acid reflux, here are some foods to avoid when heartburn and acid reflux are a common problem:
·         Chocolate - Apparently chocolate works to relax the sphincter muscle, allowing acids to flow back into the esophagus. But that isn't the only reason it’s bad for acid reflux—it also contains the next thing on our list:
·         Caffeine - Whether you get your daily jolt from coffee or soda, caffeine is a known contributor to acid reflux.
·         Soda - The bubbles in soda can expand in the stomach, causing acids to back up. Sodas that are caffeinated are doubly bad.
·         Alcohol - Like chocolate, alcohol relaxes the sphincter, allowing acid to flow freely. One drink may not be a problem, but when paired with other heartburn culprits, you’re only asking for greater pain.
·         Citrus fruits - The acid content in these fruits are especially problematic when consumed on an empty stomach or when paired with other acidic foods.
·         Tomatoes - While they are otherwise good for you, tomatoes are very acidic too.
·         Spicy foods - Among other foods to avoid with acid reflux, hot and spicy foods can make heartburn a problem. Simply swap out milder alternatives for the spicy dishes you like.
·         Fried and other high fat foods - Fried foods are a common heartburn culprit, but even high fat dairy and meat products can be problematic for some sensitive people.
·         Meat – Meat is one of the hardest foods to digest. Limit consumption and try to choose non-fatty meats like chicken or turkey.
·         Dairy – Dairy may provide temporary relief, but it could also cause problems.
If acid reflux is a problem for you, learn your triggers and how best to avoid them. In the end, you will have to find out exactly which foods are OK, and which foods to avoid with acid reflux. Learn to know your body.

Another really good tasting sweet potato juice cleanse recipe. This juice has a slight smell of the cauliflower as you put it to your mouth. When you drink it though the juice is sweet. I drank the first one I made within a minute.

How do I train my arms

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Jason tells you how to train those arms. Read and enjoy.

Arm training!! I've included the arm routine I used during the workout for you to try, perform it correctly and your arms will grow 'big'

To get that maximum swollen, blood rushing pump feeling to your arms, you must devote your full attention to each muscle group your training and think about working the muscle not only physically but mentally too, this will allow for the “mind muscle connection,” too many exercisers perform lifts that are far too heavy! Try dropping the weight and contract the muscle on every rep. To achieve this look Lactic acid plays a key role. The objective in each workout is to allow a large quantity of lactic acid to accumulate in the muscles. This will eventually lead to greater hypertrophy (muscle growth) as the body experiences a huge boost in all the anabolic hormone levels, such as growth hormone, testosterone and igf.

Routine performed as tri set

Db incline curl 3 x 6
Ez bar reverse curl 3 x 12
Concentration curl 3 x 25

Close grip press 3 x 6
Ez bar decline skull crush 3 x 12
Push downs 3 x 25

Now you know how to train them arms, go for it..!!

Green juice days

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Started my juice week. I am taking out 2 meals and replacing with a juice drink. I used a whole broccoli, 2 pears, 3 large leafs of cabbage and 2 carrots. You can add apples for a bit more sweetness if you need a slightly sweeter taste. Try and make the juice drinks with as little sweet things as you possible can. You will give your intestines a little rest. When you do eat your food, make the meal sizes smaller. You will find the benefit kicks in quite quickly.

The Mellow Broccoli

Simple recipe.

3 heads Broccoli
1/3 head Cauliflower
1/2 head Red Cabbage
3 Carrots

The Broc Synergy

Simple recipe.

2 heads Broccoli
1/2 bunch Broccoli Raab(Rapini)
6 Carrots
2 small Apples
2 stalks Fennel
1 knuckle Ginger

This broccoli juice cleanse recipe creates a well blended juice. The juice is not to sweet, spicy or strong in broccoli flavor. It is a perfect harmonious blend of all of these flavors and a juice recipe that I will be having again and again.

Broccoli Raab(Rapini) which is actually related to the turnip family has an even stronger and more pungent flavored juice than does broccoli. This is a more rare to find produce item, but you can always ask your grocer if they ever carry it. I grew some for the first time this summer and had quite a bit of it on hand when I made this recipe. Broccoli Raab has a different nutritional profile than broccoli, but is packed with good stuff!

Strength training with Jason

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

**FUNCTIONAL TRAINING??? I have been off the radar for a little while due to personal circumstances, I obviously wont discuss it on a social networking site but my friends, clients and those who know me know the reasons. I have had plenty of time lately to think, read and reflect With regards to fitness and training and realise how easy it can be, to become lost or disillusioned while training particularly with all the misinformation and contradictions spread about.

A few years ago the buzz word in the fitness industry was “core” training, this has recently been replaced with the word “functional” and a new breed of trainer touting themselves as functional specialists has crept up!! The trouble is the majority of trainers do not understand the concept of functional training, I know this because I have taught/lectured to many in the class room. First of all an exercise is natural if it obeys the laws of joint mechanics, neurophysiology and the limits of soft tissue. All exercises have risks and benefits, you can’t label any exercise good or bad, the risk is determined by how far you stray from optimal joint function. Any exercise is valuable if it contributes to the overall improvement of the desired motor pattern. With regards to sport specific “functional” training, unless you’re a weight lifter, powerlifter or strong man athlete there are no sports specific exercises in the gym, the only sports specific training, is the sport, known as practice! However if you take 2 athletes with equal skill, body structure, size and experience and make one 25% stronger in the prime movers of their sport.

The stronger athlete is now the superior athlete. My suggestion to anyone who trains people for a living is to utilize the best tools available to achieve the client’s goals. Don’t eliminate an exercise because someone tells you it’s not “functional” evaluate every exercise and piece of equipment for its efficacy at achieving the desired result. As trainers we all need to be more practical in our approach and recognise the complexity involved in manipulating the human body!!**

Chromium weight loss help

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

CHROMIUM

What is it?
Chromium is a trace mineral that works with the hormone insulin, helping the body regulate blood-sugar levels. It is found in cheese, nuts and wholegrains.
How does it work?

Chromium's main function is to help insulin carry sugar into muscle cells where it is stored as energy. A lack of chromium could cause fluctuating blood-sugar levels triggering sugar cravings.

Has it been proven?
One Austrian study found that a group of moderately overweight volunteers who took chromium in supplement form - chromium picolinate - lost almost twice as much weight as those on a placebo.

But recent research in the US has found that chromium supplements may have no benefits unless you are deficient in the mineral to begin with.
Brigid McKevith from the British Nutrition Foundation, says, 'Chromium is an important nutrient but the benefits for those trying to lose weight are too inconclusive.'
Where can I get it?

Chromium supplements are sold as chromium picolinate because picolinate helps the body to absorb chromium more effectively. The UK Sports Council warns not to take large doses for long periods of time as it can have serious side effects on the body. Ask a nutritionist or your doctor for more advice if you want to start taking chromium.

Body by nature supplements sell the next generation of Chromium. Wholefood is the best in the market to date. Read below how good it is for you.

Chromium GTF & blood glucose levels
Organic Chromium is an active ingredient of a substance called GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor). GTF is now being recognised as important in carbohydrate metabolism.
It stimulates the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of glucose for energy and the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol. When Chromium levels are low in the body, GTF levels are low too and the activity of insulin is blocked – blood glucose levels therefore remain elevated.
Also, diets high in carbohydrates soon begin to exhaust the normal control mechanisms. The end result is hypoglycaemia, insulin resistance, obesity and diabetes. Obesity is strongly linked to blood sugar disturbances because of the increasing sensitivity to insulin.

Wholefood Supplements

Body by nature Wholefood supplements are unique in that they are made from minerals that have been hydroponically-grown into a cruciferous vegetable that is a member of the broccoli family of vegetables. How do i lose weight

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Why We Are So Different To Other Supplement Companies

Here at Body by nature, we are proud to present you with a full range of essential whole food & food state supplements. Our whole food supplements come from whole foods. It is these whole foods that contain a comprehensive array of nutrients that will deliver maximum nutrition to the body.
These specially formulated products are a world away from a majority of the supplements that are available today which use isolated nutrients - something that the body cannot use or accept. Even if isolated-substance supplements are made from natural ingredients, they simply cannot rival that of supplements made from whole foods.

One example of why whole food supplements are far superior is synergy. The substances in whole foods work extremely well together to boost each other’s absorption and effectiveness.
Vitamins and minerals in a whole food supplement such as ours work synergistically together in a well-balanced manner, according to natures plan for whole foods. Our range is complete with the inclusion of food state supplements which present vitamins and minerals in a structure as close as possible to the foods where those micro nutrients naturally transpire.
This process means the food state nutrients have a much higher bio-availability so the body requires lower doses for beneficial effects. Ultimately there is less wastage of nutrients and considerably less chance of fat-soluble nutrient build up.

We feel it is our duty to supply our customers with a product that meets the highest levels of quality control and we understand the importance of using strict guidelines when manufacturing our premium range of supplements. Body by Nature Supplements raises the bar among elite providers of whole food and food state supplements by ensuring all manufacturers associated with us are GMP registered and most have Organic certification. Hydroponically-grown supplements from Body by Nature are supplied to those who have a distinct focus on their nutrition and well-being.
Our vision is simple; we aim to rejuvenate the dwindling mineral content of the average diet which is made poor from intensive farming, by supplying nutrients to the body in the same form as those in food i.e. in a food state or food complex which was once described as "the best kept secret in the health food industry". Through using breakthrough technology and superior modern day science, we have created a product that can deliver essential nutrients in a complete food complex which is naturally recognised as food and effectively absorbed by the body.
We are a market leading company providing the finest quality Bio-effective and natural food based supplementation and you can rest assured that our products only contain what is listed on our labels. We feel this makes your choice of supplements even easier and will provide your body with maximum health benefits.

Below are some helpful hints from Jason who is one of our top rated Personal Trainers. Jason has worked for Body by Nature Supplements for over 7 years. His vision is second to none. Read how to train the body and brain.

I was recently asked by a friend “what should I do in the gym?” and it got me thinking, how do I answer this? As a trainer / coach, there are so many variables to consider I didn't know where to begin, it all depends on what the client / exerciser wants to achieve and what condition they are currently at. How do you sum up an exercise regime? What should a general approach to fitness and exercise look like? Here I have broken down everything I believe a healthy person should do, but is ‘dynamic warm up, strength training, bodyweight training, metabolic conditioning, pushing, pulling, lunging, squatting, rotating, sprinting, jumping, bending, stretching, pre-habilitation and mobility work’ the best answer?, it’s an accurate and correct answer, but I'm not sure its the best one.

The most important thing to understand when developing an exercise training program is to know ‘why’ you’re doing ‘what’ you’re doing. For example, programming specific lifts, for a certain number of reps, for a particular number of sets with no specific goal established limits the effectiveness of developing size (hypertrophy) and strength. When designing a training program the first thing that should be determined is the overall desired training goal .What are the training goals? ‘fat loss, strength, hypertrophy, power, aerobic fitness, sport / activity specific, injury rehabilitation, flexibility etc’ as each goal would need a different approach. The training goal influences all other loading parameters such as exercise selection, reps, sets, tempo and rest intervals. When the overall training goal has been decided a per iodized training plan should then be developed that maps out how and when that training goal will be achieved. The trainer also needs to think about the energy system contribution their client or athletes goals dictate, for example, when designing a programme for a 5 k runner much more emphasis would be put on rep/set/rest period combinations stressing the lactic acid system than would be done for a 100 metre sprinter who is predominantly utilising the ATP/PC energy systems.
As a trainer I believe if you’re not assessing your guessing. What are their health / nutritional status? Skill level? Current fitness / ability etc.? The more thorough the assessment procedure the more individualised the programme can be. This is why assessment of clients is crucial when designing a training programme ‘range of movement tests, comparative range of movement, nutritional status, hormonal profile, strength tests, body fat tests, VO2 tests, fibre type tests, structural balance, blood work, power tests, speed tests, motor skill tests, medical questionnaires, lifestyle questionnaires etc.’ There are many elements to consider when designing programs which is the reason I believe there is no one recipe for program success, there are numerous ingredients and it is up to the trainer to create the appropriate combination to ensure success. All trainers have preferences and influences but the programmes should reflect what the client needs and can handle and not by what is popular or driven by personal preference. So next time you ask a knowledgeable trainer “what should I do in the gym?” and they look at you with a blank look on their face, their brain is probably working overtime!!

Fibroid tumor

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Thank you for sharing your story, Erin ♥

"I've always, ALWAYS struggled with my weight. I just turned 30 in April, and until this point in my life I can't think of a single time I was satisfied with my body or not CONSTANTLY thinking about what I was eating, when, etc... I lost a lot of weight in college through a diet program that basically consisted of eating nothing but make-believe, fat free, sugar free science project food. The result was rapidly gaining it back after a year and the growth of a honey dew melon sized fibroid tumor that almost killed me 2 years ago when it started necrotizing in my abdomen.

Finally, after my husband had success dropping sugar from his diet I decided to try it out. I cut all added/processed sugar (well, as much as possible) and began weeding out processed food. I started this on January 1, and since then I've dropped almost 40 pounds (from 205 to 167) and gone from a size 16 to a size 10. Additionally, I feel AMAZING all the time. Since January 1 I've run a 10 mile trail race, two 5ks, a Warrior Dash, and completed the Tough Mudder on my 30th birthday. I joined a rock climbing gym, bought a bike, and took up hot (and regular) yoga. I also hardly ever think about food. Now, I eat to nourish and fuel my body and meals no long have ANY stress surrounding them: I eat real, delicious, healthy food when I'm hungry and don't even feel tempted to "cheat" with the poison I used to regularly consume. I am 100% my best self for having made this change. It was the best decision of my life (besides marrying my amazing husband who has pushed me to really succeed and supported me along the way)." -- Erin Carrington Smith

We look for good quality products made by local people, not CHEMICAL COMPANIES who

make their millions out of selling us the public cancer causing products like shampoos and

soaps.
