Shocking Levels of RoundUp Herbicide Found in Genetically Modified Soy

gardenmoney
A new study conducted by The Arctic University of Norway has found that ready for market GM soy beans contain ‘extreme levels’ of glysophate residue compared to organic soy.Thumbnail credit: nationofchange.org
According to Eco Watch,
“Who says when Roundup contamination can be considered “extreme”? Monsanto itself. In 1999, the chemical giant defined an “extreme level” of the herbicide as 5.6 milligrams per kilogram of plant weight.
Astonishingly, the Norwegian scientists found a whopping nine milligrams of Roundup per kilogram, on average. What it boils down to is this: every time we eat GE soy we are taking a dose of Roundup with it. This is alarming, because Roundup has been found to be hazardous to human health and sometimes kills human cells.”
The authors of the study concluded:
“This study demonstrated that Roundup Ready [GE]-soy may have high residue levels of glyphosate […] and also that different agricultural practices may result in a markedly different nutritional composition of soybeans […] Lack of data on pesticide residues in major crop plants is a serious gap of knowledge with potential consequences for human and animal health.”
This study basically confirmed what we already knew, GMO soy is bad for your health. Not only does this study show that you end up consuming higher levels of dangerous pesticides, GM soy is also shown to contain less nutritional value than organic and ‘conventional’ soy.
Some other highlights from this study that are worth noting:
•Glyphosate tolerant GM soybeans contain high residues of glyphosate and AMPA.
•Soybeans from different agricultural practices differ in nutritional quality.
•Organic soybeans showed a more healthy nutritional profile than other soybeans.
•Organic soy contained more sugars, protein and zinc, but less fibre and omega-6.
•This study rejects that GM soy is “substantially equivalent” to non-GM soybeans.

Improve your squat with James

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

13 ways to help improve and refine your squat
1- Start the movement by breaking at the knees first and not the hips, then sit back into the movement. This is probably the biggest mistake most beginners make.
They either do one or the other. They either start the movement by bending their knees first, and then never bend their hips. Or they start the movement at the hips and then round their lower back at the bottom of the movement.
Focus on moving the knees slightly forward initially, then sit your hips back into the movement.
2- Point your toes slightly out.
3- Open up the hips, track the knees outward- This is key, as by starting the movement from the knees first, you risk the knees being too far forward. Thus, focus on opening up the hips (track your knees out over your toes).
4- Proper dynamic warm up. Open up those hips and ankles. If you go to YouTube and type in “Bryce Lewis” he has some excellent warm up drills you can watch.
5- Look straight ahead. This is somewhat of a grey area, this may take some trial and error where you prefer to look, choose which ever feels best for you. I tend to find looking straight ahead is best for me. Most of the top powerlifters do this too.
6- Drive your feet through the floor- Imagine you are trying to push your heels through the floor, focus your weight on your heels/middle of your feet and not your toes.
7- Upper back tightness- Make sure your elbows are pointing down and not back. Imagine you are about to do a behind the kneck overhead press with the bar. That’s the elbow position you want. Try it now without any weight, you should feel how tight your upper back is.
8- Breathing- Take some big deep breaths before you squat.
9- Push your abdominals out- Keep your abdominals contracted and pushed out throughout the whole movement.
10- Mobility (ankle/hip)- Most people lack good squat form mainly due to poor hip and ankle mobility. Again, type in “Bryce Lewis” into YouTube for some good drills you can perform to help improve these.
11- Proper footwear-Avoid running shoes when you are squatting. You want something with a solid and raised heel. The problem with running shoes is that are unstable for squatting, as they allow for compression. (Good for running, not so good for squatting).
12- Depth- Ideally you will get to at least parallel to the floor. This is yet another grey area, as different people can achieve different depths safely. I would argue, get as low as possible while maintaining a neutral spine. I.e. not rounding your back at the bottom of the squat.
13- Low bar vs High bar squat. Low bar will put more stress on your lower back, but you will be able to lift more weight, I would suggest using a belt with this style. Higher bar, is typically better at stimulating the legs. This is what I would suggest for most individuals.
High bar- Positioned across the upper trapezius (Traps).
Low Bar- Slightly lower, approximately on the rear deltoids.
The image shows you the bar position for each.

What Is Cellulite and What Causes It?

What Is Cellulite and What Causes It?

Some people will tell you that cellulite is just fat, plain and simple. Others will say that cellulite is composed of trapped toxins and excess water underneath the skin. The truth is that cellulite is a condition that affects the appearance of the skin in areas with underlying fat deposits (most noticeably on the buttocks and thighs), giving the skin a dimpled, lumpy appearance.

Fat, in and of itself, is not responsible for the lumpy, bumpy look of cellulite. In the right circumstances, fat can be a beautiful thing. In fact, facial fat is what’s responsible for the smooth and beautiful plump round cheeks you see on the young. Plastic surgeons even charge patients a lot of money to inject patients' own fat into areas of the patients' faces and bodies. In fact, fat injections are sometimes used as a treatment to improve the appearance of cellulite.

So what is it that makes cellulite different from “normal” fat? It is the structure of the overlying skin and of the underlying connective tissue that determines whether a given area has a smooth or rippled appearance.

Who Gets Cellulite?
Have you ever wondered why men are so much less likely to have cellulite, even when obese? Or why obese children usually do not have cellulite? Or why you see even very slim women with cellulite?

While the appearance of cellulite tends to worsen in proportion to the amount of fat present in the affected area, cellulite can affect even the thinnest women. The reason for this is that while fat deposits do exacerbate the condition, fat itself is not the primary cause.

Why Do I Have Cellulite?
Underneath the skin lies a layer of fibrous connective tissue that is responsible for adhering the skin to the muscle beneath it. In most men, this connective tissue is arranged in a cross-hatched or diagonal manner, in a smooth and continuous pattern.

The connective tissue of women is another story, running vertically (perpendicular to the skin). Because of this, these fibrous bands (called septae) tether the skin to the underlying tissue at certain points, essentially creating discrete “fat chambers” to push up on the skin while the bands pull the skin downward.

This difference in connective tissue arrangement (coupled with the fact that men usually have thicker skin than women) explains why far fewer men have cellulite than women.

Bad News First
When we are young, our connective tissue is supple and elastic, stretching and giving with the skin so that everything remains smooth. Then puberty hits, and hormones wreak havoc on the connective tissue, making it stiffer and less elastic. At the same time, our fat cells tend to expand in certain areas, pushing out on the skin.

As the bands of connective tissue contract and stiffen with age, they pull down on the skin even more. At the same time, increasing fat stores push outward in the surrounding areas. Put these two occurrences together, and the result is an unappealing landscape of dimples and bulges.

As we get older, the outer layer of skin weakens, thins, and loses elasticity. Gravity takes its toll, and the skin begins to sag. Since the connective septae remain intact and often contracts and stiffens further as time marches on, the appearance of cellulite continues to worsen with age.
Another probable aggravating factor in the development of cellulite is yo-yo dieting. Repeated cycles of weight gain and weight loss further compromise skin elasticity, making cellulite more pronounced.

The Good News
You can improve (not eliminate) the appearance of cellulite by living a healthy lifestyle. That means staying hydrated, not smoking, and yes, following a sensible diet and exercise program.

A combination of proper diet and exercise will decrease the layer of fat underneath the skin, making cellulite less noticeable. A proper diet can also be helpful in keeping the skin and connective tissue stronger, healthier, and more supple. In addition, staying properly hydrated and eating well will help prevent water retention (which exacerbates cellulite).

Exercise helps with cellulite in a multitude of ways. Not only does it help keep body fat levels lower, it also improves circulation and muscle tone in cellulite-prone areas. Improved circulation will keep both the skin and connective tissue healthier, as well as helping with elimination of waste and excess fluid retention.

The Ugly Truth
You may stick to world’s best diet and exercise program, and still have cellulite. The presence, severity, and location of cellulite are in large part determined by hormones and heredity.

While there are a few cellulite treatments and procedures1 that can somewhat improve the appearance of cellulite, there is no “cure” for cellulite. In fact, most of the cellulite “solutions” offered by those who would separate you from your hard-earned cash are little more than expensive placebos.

Personality test

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Let your choice of colors and shapes tell you more about your personality!

Relax, look at the pictures and see which you are most attracted to.

Personality Test Results:

1. Freedom loving
Freedom is important to you - nothing is worse than when you feel tied down. You may find you move jobs or location frequently because the idea of staying in one place too long unnerves you. The same can apply to relationships! People see you as fun loving, and you are. You attempt to enjoy life to the full, in accordance with the motto: "You only live once." You tend to attract less energetic people as friends or partners, like moths to a flame, they see you as the light. Careful they don't drain you! You are very curious and open about everything new and thrive on change. Quite simply, you are a breath of fresh air.

2. Independent and unconventional
Your lifestyle is highly individualistic. You do not follow the crowd, on the contrary, you seek to live according to your own ideas and convictions, even if this means swimming against the tide. You need a free and unattached life that allows you to determine your own course. You have an artistic bent in your work or leisure activities. Your urge for freedom sometimes causes you to do exactly the opposite of what is expected of you. You are rather unique, so don't bother comparing yourself to anyone else. Live life your way.

3. Sensitive and reflective
You are comfortable spending hours alone with your thoughts and rarely become bored. You dislike superficiality; you'd rather be alone than have to suffer through small talk. Your relationships with your friends are very strong, which gives you the inner tranquillity and harmony that you require. You love deeply but if someone betrays you it is next to impossible to forgive. You are an old soul, someone who has lived many times before and has seen it all. All you crave now is simplicity and the chance to focus your attention on a meaningful existence.

4. Down to earth and charming
You have a natural authentic charm, what you see is what you get. People admire you because you seem so 'together'. You have both feet planted firmly on the ground and they can depend on you. While others complicate their life with ifs and buts, you know your own mind. You provide security and space to those close to you. You are a rock, and although others may not tell you, you are the sun around which they revolve. You dislike superficiality and tend to be skeptical toward the whims of trends. Where others crash and burn, you motor on, quietly achieving all you need to do. You are a woman (or man) of substance.

5. Professional and self-assured
You take charge of your life, and place less faith in your luck and more in your own actions. You solve problems in a practical, uncomplicated manner. You take a realistic view of things in your daily life and tackle them without fuss. You are given responsibility at work, because people know that you can be depended upon. You project self-assurance to others. You are a born leader and organiser. Although you work well in a team, ideally you should be the one giving the orders. After all, you are usually right!

6. Peaceful and timeless
You are easy-going yet discreet. There is a timeless elegance about you (think Audrey Hepburn). You make friends effortlessly, yet enjoy your privacy and independence. You like to get away from it all and be alone from time to time to contemplate the meaning of life. You need space, so you escape to hideaways, but you are not a loner. You are at peace with yourself and the world, and you appreciate life and what this world has to offer. You have a strong life purpose and when you discover it, you project your personal brand of magic on the world.

7. Cultured and classical
Cultured and sophisticated you value the things money can't necessarily buy - good conversation, original ideas, music and the arts. You have a fair mind and can see both sides of an argument. You rarely let emotions get the better of you, preferring to assess situations rationally. Calm, logical and yet compassionate and kind. You have 'old-fashioned' principles, which at heart make you a real lady (or gentleman). A timeless, vintage classic - the sort of person everyone secretly admires and likes to copy.

8. Sensitive and spiritual
You are a highly sensitive and spiritual person. You refuse to see life only from a rational view point. You have great intuition and trust your feelings. You must have dreams to aspire towards or you won't feel happy. You like to improve yourself, and in so doing make a difference in the world - even if only in little ways. You find it hard to understand people who are only guided rationality. You form true relationships with open souls, people who know there is more to life than we can touch, see or hear. Your psychic sense is highly evolved, trust it and work with it.

9. Dynamic and sparkly
You are a mover and a shaker! You are willing to take risks in return for interesting and varied work. Routine tends to have a paralysing effect on you. Being stuck behind a desk 9-5 would destroy your soul and enthusiasm for life. You need to be given the chance to express your ideas and put them into action. You have a rainbow personality, and can cheer others up, even on the gloomiest of days. If you ever feel you have lost your sparkle it is because the situation you find yourself in is not right for you. Follow your enthusiasm, even if it means you chop and change for years. The journey is as important as the destination.
