Question your food

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

Are you part of the low fat sugar free gang that ironically seem to be fat?!

Let me Explain in simple terms, eating fat does not make you fat! Yes that's right, here is why.........

Your body needs fat to function.

-Your brain is made up of approximately 60% fat.

-All your cell membranes are made up partly of fat

-Eating fat present with protein increases protein synthesis. Increasing lean muscle therefore making you lose body fat. So don't throw away the yolks!

-Coconut oil has proven to not only slow down Alzheimer's disease but in some cases reverse!

-Avocado's increase testosterone. Another way to help build muscle and lose fat.

-Fish oil has a positive effect on all know diseases in some way whether it be helping with symptoms or in some cases cures. It also helps metabolise fat to be burnt as fuel.

That's just a few facts about fats most people don't know.

My diet comprises of 50% fat 30% protein and 20% carbs. My body fat fluctuates between 6-9% all year round, not just for a competition or show. Yet I eat mainly fats!

Still think fats are bad?! Do some research and know your facts about fats! Low fat and diet sugar replacements are a con. Wake up, don't be fooled.

Just don't follow what everybody else tells you to eat. Question the manufacturers of companies who supply food in packets, like Mac Donald's. Eat food from the ground, food from the sea and food that fly's. If you buy your food from a freezer then look deep into the wording. You may find out you have been sold food that is fit for animals not humans.

"I am a mother of 4 children under the age of 6. I had been struggling with my weight, skin problems, and horrible stomach pain for years before discovering paleo. The before picture was taken about a month into my paleo journey in June of 2012. By that point I had already lost a little over 20 pounds.

This month marked my 1 year anniversary of being paleo and I have lost and kept off 67 pounds! Besides the weight loss, the stomach pain and bloating that I once endured on an almost daily basis is gone. My awful adult acne has cleared up. I have more energy than I have ever had before and I feel the best I have ever felt in my life. Paleo has become my way of life and I am thankful every day that I discovered it. It is so true that most people never really know just how good the human body is designed to feel." ~ Ashley Armstrong

Edited to add a comment from Ashley a few hours after this was first posted in response to the comments: " I really appreciate all of the positive feedback and encouragement. Paleo is something I am so passionate about because I know how much it has helped me and can help others. It isn't just about the weight loss. It's about being the best, healthiest version of me that I can be. I eat this way because it makes me feel good. This is the only body I will have and it deserves real, whole foods. If I can do it, anyone can!!"

Garlic: Researchers have concluded that garlic taken as a supplement could have clinical use for people with high blood pressure. Several trials showed that taking garlic initiates a drop in blood pressure.

Folic acid: Folic acid is a B vitamin the body needs for creating red blood cells. A small study of 24 cigarette smokers showed that 4 weeks of supplementation with folic acid significantly lower blood pressure.

Fish oil: There is some data that suggests the DHA in fish oil helps to lower high blood pressure.

Hawthorn: A trial involving 79 patients with type 2 diabetes taking a 1200 mg daily supplement of hawthorn for 16 weeks showed that those taking the herb had a significant reduction in diastolic blood pressure.

Eat fresh

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

"We are NOT what we eat! We are kinda what we eat, BUT we are very much what we absorb!

If and once our intestinal walls begins to breakdown through eating poor quality foods, excess stress, lack of movement, consuming highly inflammatory foods, etc…it greatly hinders our bodies ability to digest and absorb nutrients, eliminate toxins, and protect our immunity.

Many times this dysfunction or “issue” is referred to leaky gut, leaking microorganisms, food particles, and information. Our immune system is not supposed to deal with these leaking particles, which causes a weakening effect, similar to that of overloading the liver with toxins, estrogens, stress hormones, etc…

We still are what we eat, but protecting our digestion, intestinal wall, and immunity by NOT eating foods that cause inflammation, bloating, gas, irritability, fermentation, etc…is important to keep our digestive processes functioning so that your hormones, blood sugar, and metabolism stays strong and efficient.

Cancer cure

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

One of nature's oddest creatures has given up the secret of its incredible cancer immunity.
The naked mole rat, a hairless rodent that lives in ant-like colonies underground, appears to enjoy complete protection against the disease, despite its unusually long 30-year lifespan.
Now for the first time scientists believe they know why. The discovery could lead to exciting new cancer treatments for human patients.
The key to the mole rat's freedom from cancer is a gooey substance in its body tissue that stops normal cells turning cancerous.
Known as "high molecular weight hyaluronan", or HMW-HA, it surrounds mole rat cells and in the laboratory clogged up vacuum pumps and tubing. When the "goo" was taken away, cells became vulnerable to cancer triggers and started forming tumours.
In the mole rat, HMW-HA's primary function is generating a very flexible, elastic skin that allows it to squeeze through narrow underground tunnels.
Its rejuvenating effect on skin is already well known to the cosmetics industry, which uses it in anti-wrinkle creams and injections. This suggests HMW-HA could safely be used to treat cancer.
Lead scientist Dr Andrei Seluanov, from the University of Rochester, US, said: "There's indirect evidence that HMW-HA would work in people. It's used in anti-wrinkle injections and to relieve pain from arthritis in knee joints, without any adverse effects. Our hope is that it can also induce an anti-cancer response."
The naked mole rat's unique form of hyaluronan - part of the connective material between cells, or extracellular matrix - is absent from cell cultures from other mammals, including humans, mice and guinea pigs. It has giant molecules, more than five times larger than those of mouse or human hyaluronan.
The research, published in the journal Nature, showed that mole rat hyaluronan activates a powerful anti-cancer gene called p16 which prevents cells proliferating when too many of them crowd together. Next the scientists plan to test the anti-cancer effectiveness of HMW-HA on mice, after which they will focus on human cells.

Lose weight fast

www.bodybynaturesupplements.com

We took our own pledge for 100 days in part to convince others that they could follow our same “real food” rules for only 10 days. We realize not everyone is keen on the idea of going “cold turkey” with the 10 Days of Real Food pledge though, which is why we also developed 14 weeks of mini-pledges. If taking baby steps is more your speed then check out the weekly “real food” challenges detailed below.
Earlier this year we finished up these mini-pledges with our readers as a group, but just because we’re no longer taking these pledges together doesn’t mean people can’t do them on their own. If you’re interested in giving it a shot you could start at the beginning or go in your own preferred order. You could also build each week on top of the next or simply tackle one weekly challenge at a time. Our hope is if you take these mini-pledges (or the 10-day pledge) that you’ll gain a new perspective from the experience and make at least some positive long-term changes as a result. No matter what though…these pledges will get you to start reading ingredient labels (if you don’t already)!

14 Weeks of “Real Food” Mini-Pledges

  • Week 1: Two fruits and/or vegetables per meal – Eat a minimum of two different fruits or vegetables (preferably organic) with every breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal.
  • Week 2: “Real” beverages – Beverages will be limited to coffee, tea, water, and milk (only naturally sweetened with a little honey or 100% pure maple syrup). One cup of juice will be allowed throughout the week, and wine (preferably red) will be allowed in moderation (an average of one drink per day).
  • Week 3: Meat – All meat consumed this week will be locally raised (within 100-miles of your hometown). Meat consumption will also be limited to 3 – 4 servings this week, and when it is eaten meat will not be presented as the “focal point” of the meal. Instead meat will be treated as a side item or simply used to help flavor a dish.
  • Week 4: No fast food or deep-fried foods – No fast food or any foods that have been deep-fried in oil.
  • Week 5: Try two new whole foods – Try a minimum of two new whole foods that you’ve never had before.
  • Week 6: No low-fat, lite or nonfat food products – Do not eat any food products that are labeled as “low-fat,” “lite,” “light,” “reduced fat,” or “nonfat.”
  • Week 7: 100% Whole grain – All grains consumed must be 100% whole-grain.
  • Week 8: Stop eating when you feel full – Listen to your internal cues and stop eating when you feel full.
  • Week 9: No refined sweeteners – No refined or artificial sweeteners including (but not limited to): white sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, sucanat, splenda, stevia, agave, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, and cane juice. Foods and beverages can only be sweetened with a moderate amount of honey or maple syrup.
  • Week 10: No refined oils – No refined or hydrogenated oils including (but not limited to): vegetable oil, organic vegetable oil, soybean oil, corn oil, canola oil, organic canola oil, margarine, and grape seed oil.
  • Week 11: Eat local foods – Eat at least 1 locally grown or raised food at each meal. This includes, but is not limited to: fruits, vegetables, eggs, grains, nuts, meats, and sweeteners like honey.
  • Week 12: No sweeteners – Avoid all added sweeteners including, but not limited to: white sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, honey, maple syrup, date sugar, maple sugar, sucanat, splenda, stevia, agave, fruit juice concentrate, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, and cane juice.
  • Week 13: Nothing artificial – Avoid all artificial ingredients including, but not limited to: sweeteners, flavors and colors.
  • Week 14: No more than 5-indgredients – Avoid any and all packaged food products that contain more than five ingredients no matter what ingredients
